I own a 2022 KLR. I wouldn't suggest going over 80.The aerodynamics of the bike isn't made for that speed. A little wind under the front fender will lift the front end up. Had it happen. Promised the almighty that if he got me out of it, I wouldn't do it again 🤪

Where is the overdrive gear? Why is there no overdrive gear on the Himalayan in 2024? There are hundreds of reviews, and not one person mentioned the gear ratios and a lack of overdrive, but instead people have complained about engine vibration. Engine vibration at speed is caused by LACK OF AN OVERDRIVE gear. Where there is no load on the engine, it will buzz and cause unnecessary vibration. A tall overdrive would have fixed this problem.

I bought mine two days ago, did 181 miles so far and I am absolutely in love with it!

Bought week ago. Traction control is saved, if user mode is adjusted by holding down mode button and then turn off traction control. Then settings stay even after key left the bike for few days.

Awesome video and riding! Worth mention that their display is extremely slow, and has a huge input lag. Feels like using a computer from 1985.

I had one no power .against the wind it struggles to go over 50 .no power to climb up hills.

Why can’t manufacturers just make simple powerful bikes no tech bullshit. Clearly the rider skills are garbage if they need all the tech.

I own a Harley-Davidson Heritage and just bought a new 2023 KLR 650 Traveler. I live in Las Vegas Nevada and I wanted to ride in off road areas that I wouldn’t dare take my Heritage. The price of the KLR was only 1/4 of what I paid for the Harley-Davidson Heritage😎🏍️

Nice to see a very favorable review on this, my new bike. I went thru a dreadful period of buyers remorse, due mostly to UA-cam, but also due to the rear end bouncy, pogo shock, that feels like it could throw me off if I’m not careful, by standing up when I see the bump coming. I’ve also learned to let the pogo effect give me a lift up into the standing position, when it hits a bump. This happens even on highways.

Which tyres are those?

Would a steering stabilizer help with the rake angle issue?

Curious how the vest would react in a slow uphill tip over situation. I have one but have only used it on the street so far.

I really really wish they had updated and lightened the old 411, think there’s a lot of us ex 411 owners who would have liked to have seen the simple approach kept. That’s coming from someone who had one an had issues on a new e5 2022 bike.

Looking to ride to Leh from Delhi in June, trying to decide between this or the 650, will need two bikes, my son and I are going, or should we get one of each and then swap? any thoughts, my current machine 1200gs, K1300s and my old trusty ducati 916.

I would pay extra for tubeless spoked wheels. I have been stuck on the trail or road with a flat tire,too many times. I had a flat on my Triumph Tiger .Cast tubeless wheels, I plugged tire and was back on the road in less than an hour. Tubes were good for the 1900's , but not now! I test rode the 2021 Himalayan and was amazed how smooth the motor was, and was able to hold 80mph on the highway. I will never buy a new motorcycle with tubes.

About 50 lbs lighter than the klr 650 with similar power and tourq plus a 6 speed transmission?. Dam i think royal enfield hit it out of the park.

Switching the maps is not ride modes and being able to turn off the abs is not a ride mode. So please don't miss inform people.

Traction control, ABS and rider modes are a good representation of the degradation of society. Learn to ride a motorcycle. I for the life of me cannot understand someone who would want a bike to give them less HP than it is capable of. If my bike could have 1000hp I would take it. You know that right handle bar grip controls the power to the wheel right? Who would want traction control to stop you from sliding the back tire or doing a wheelie. LEARN TO RIDE NERDS. you are ruining motorcycles for the uncastrated.

I hate that intake location all the way in the front of the bike. It's just going to suck in all the dirt and everything.

the big issue I have with my KLR 650 is on windy days on the highway. not very good at crushing miles when you have to go slow because the bike gets shoved around like crazy when its really windy which is always the case here in Texas. As far as the other issues people have like top speed, gear indicator and tac, I personally like having a bare bones bike when I am putting it through off road use.

For those who are lucky enough to have tried riding a proper rally bike, I wonder how the aerodynamics is compared to, you know, a regular old dual-sport on the road at average speed of like 60 mph... Whether the rally screen is too tall to have clean air over the helmet or if it is such that there's an actual bubble of air going over the helmet? (Or my guess which would be that air is hitting somewhere between mouth and forehead height?)
